Community Service Project

  • MADOR: National Initiatives of the Joint Council of Mechinot

Every year, mechina students volunteer in various settings as part of the Community Service Project, a product of the shared values and close collaboration of the Joint Council and KKL.

Participants take part in wide-ranging activities in informal educational programs and schools, notably middle schools and high schools in the geographic and social periphery. The goal of the project is to promote leadership and sustainability among teenagers and young adults in target areas, who are exposed to a Zionism founded on the values and heritage of the Jewish people.

Among the wide variety of activities are volunteering at after-school facilities for children and teenagers, one-on-one mentoring, organizing cultural and heritage events, helping children and teenagers connect to nature, and leadership and empowerment activities. Activities are conducted in collaboration with regional KKL personnel.
