Leading Israel
Beit Midrash programs for mechina heads
Joint learning for mechina heads from across the spectrum
The beit midrash programs of the Joint Council of Mechinot aim to generate a discourse and unmediated encounters between participating mechina heads. The programs are premised on the understanding that mutual acquaintance and the human and ideological diversity characteristic of the mechina world are core values in building bridges within the mechina world and from it to Israeli society. The project includes two beit midrash programs, one in partnership with Siach Shalom and another in partnership with the Matanel Foundation.
Student Scholarship Fund
Helping disadvantaged students attend mechina
By opening up the mechina experience to young people from the geographic and social periphery, the Student Scholarship Fund helps maximize the number of individuals who can attend mechina, enriching and broadening the ranks of Israel’s future leaders. Scholarships grants are made possible by our partners in the mechina world, foremost among them KKL and the Matanel Foundation.
The 11-Point Plan
Establishing 11 mechinot near Gaza
The 11-Point Plan, an initiative sparked by Operation Swords of Iron, is predicated on the importance of building up communities in border areas and doing all that is necessary to rehabilitate communities near Gaza. The new mechinot and mechina branches established under the plan will bolster existing mechinot in northern Israel, near Gaza, and in the Western Negev, regions where the mechina presence already serves as a bulwark of support, volunteering, and education.
