As Walt Disney wisely put it, "If you can dream it, you can do it." I used to think that these words were nothing but a fantasy, but in the last 10 months, my time at the mechina has taught to see the truth in these nine words. From the daily lectures and the weekly schedules to the trips and the volunteering opportunities, the mechina offers you plenty of room to express who you truly are and/ or want to be, you just need to be able to take hold of those opportunities and allow your dreams to become a reality. Looking back, it's amazing to see how many projects I was able to help organize, projects that were once ideas waiting for someone to bring to life. One such project includes the march which I organized. In memory of a good friend of mine, I deeply wanted to organize a march through which the mechina and I would raise and donate money to a certain charity. With the help and support from my friends in the mechina, I was able to turn that dream into a reality. Although the march was not as I had anticipated, the fact that I was able to lead 51 other people to follow my dreams made me realize that anything is possible as long as you believe in yourself. This powerful message has led me this entire year and hopefully it will help you where ever you decide to go.

Something I didn't understand until I got to Beit Yisrael was the power of people truly living their values in an Israeli context. I came to Beit Yisrael to experience the religious, socioeconomic, and political diversity of Israeli life.

One of my favorite things about my year at Mechinat Nachshon is when we are "closed" (stay at the Kibbutz) for Shabbat. Shabbat here has an American flavor meaning that I have been able to incorporate some of my own
