Asaf is the general coordinator of Orthodox mechinot and alumni coordinator for Orthodox mechinot at the Joint Council. He is an alumnus of the Otzem Pre-Military Torah Academy, a company commander (res.) in the IDF, and a graduate of Yeshiva Shavei Hevron. Asaf taught at Beit Midrash Netivot Deror from 2010 to 2016 and is finishing a baccalaureate degree in education, the Hebrew Bible, and the Oral Torah.
He is thirty-five, married to Ortal, and the father of Neriya, Tahel, Einat, Ziv, Gilat, and Hen. The family lives in Kiryat Arba.
