Be’Artzeinu, the Mechina Alumni Community-Building Project, is coming to the Negev! Destination: Arad.
I want to quickly update you about the diverse activities, progress, and achievements of the Joint Council of Mechinot (Pre-Military Leadership Academies) during the 2016–2017 academic year and the beginning of the current year.
The annual conference of the Joint Council of Mechinot (Pre-Military Leadership Academies) took place on May 25 in partnership with the Keren Kayemeth LeIsrael (KKL). This year’s event was titled “Think Ahead: Think Community-Building.”
The Joint Council of Mechinot (Pre-Military Leadership Academies) wishes you a successful, meaningful year. In this message, we would like to draw your attention to a notable point related to gender. Ten years ago, not one woman was the head of a mechina or affiliate, and there were a similar number of female directors filling number-two positions. This year, we see a revolution.
A few words from program coordinator Stav Karmel about helping young Jews from around the world come to attend mechina in Israel
Today is the beginning of the mechina experience for students at traditional and secular mechinot. They join their peers at the Orthodox mechinot, who arrived at the beginning of the month of Elul. A message to the students and staff of the mechinot from Dani Zamir, CEO of the Joint Council of Mechinot (Pre-Military Leadership Academies), as the year begins
Dear fellows, In recent years we have witnessed the growth of pre-military academies. This wonderful phenomenon is the essence of modern Zionism: young adults of all backgrounds, from north and south, Left and Right, religious and non-religious, dedicate one year to repairing the society in which we live, by volunteering, learning about the other and expanding their comfort zone.
Dear Heads of the Pre-military Leadership Academies, Educational Staff, and Students, I congratulate you on this festive occasion when you mark the conclusion of the Mechina year with thousands of students, young men and women, graduating from pre-military leadership academies throughout Israel.
